What is Reiki?
Reiki is healing energy channelled through a trained practitioner and is received by the whole body and mind. The energy magnifies the body's own capacity for self-healing. It works on the source of dis-ease and not directly on the symptoms.

My Training and Qualifications
I began working as a Reiki Practitioner in 1998 and having been trained to Reiki Level II, in 2007 I also studied advanced Reiki techniques from the Japanese Lineage with Penelope Quest.

What will happen during a treatment?
The recipient receives healing energy whilst lying on a treatment couch fully clothed. The Practitioner places hands on set places on the head and front and back of the upper body which relate to chakras and energy meridians within the body. Shoes and outer outdoor clothing will usually be removed for comfort.

What do I need to do during the treatment?
The recipient is not consciously active during treatment. Many people become so relaxed they fall asleep. Some people will feel sensations others will not.

What training has a practitioner undertaken?
Practitioners are trained by a Reiki Master in 1st and 2nd Degree Reiki. Trainees sign up to the Reiki Principles and agree to abide by the Code of Practice. Once trained Practitioners must keep up a regime of daily practice to remain focused and responsible.

How long does it take?
A Reiki session will typically take about an hour, extra time is required the first time to carry out an initial consultation. Quickie or taster treatments without proper follow up are not recommended.

How many sessions will I need?
This will depend upon the individual. A minimum of three treatments is usually recommended.
